I miss the old Emeril!

TD and I watched the new Emeril Green show this morning at 4 am. So not the same as the Emeril Live show on the Food Network! He was so subdued and matter-of-fact. It made me sad because he was not as lively. I do not know why he is no longer on the Food Network. If someone knows, please tell me. Yes, he was sometimes over the top with all the BAMs and what not, but he was fun to watch and, well, you gotta love a chef that loves pork fat! Do you like Emeril?

Hi, Cookie! Thanks for stopping by! I am so thrilled to get a comment from someone that has a blog as nice as yours. Yes, Emeril's old show was full of humor and showed a sort of zest for life. Sort of like the Bette Midler video you showed on your blog. A lot of fun! Now, he almost seems resigned. His spaghetti sauce is yummy... that is for sure! Take care, Cookie... I will visit you soon!

It would appear that, with the departures of Sara Moulton (over a year ago), Mario Batali (just a month or two ago) and now Emeril, that the FN is throwing out all its backbone chefs in favor of the new/up & coming chefs or food personalities.

I copied & pasted that from the TV guide and food network. =) But seeing as this blog is fairly old you may have already received your answer!

Yoel, I am so impressed! Thanks so much for posting that "insider info" about the FN! Well, I guess it is true that FN is all about the younger and more "with it" chefs now. Oh, well. There are always reruns of Emeril Live. They better never take away Iron Chef... I love that show! I think that Aaron (the Next Food Network Star winner) is doing a good job on his Big Daddy show on Sundays so far. But he is no Emeril. Thanks for finding out the answer for me! hugs, ~terry

Hey no problem, Petes actually wanting me to watch Iron Chef so I learn some stuff on there, but yeah it is sad to see the old pro's go to be replaced by newer folk.
